Rabid Betta Activist
I recently rescued a CT and a PK with major health issues. Both had Ich, parasites, and had been in severe fights with bettas and/or fin-nipping fish. The PK had septicemia, and the CT was greviously wounded. Because they looked like they wouldn't pull through at first, I did not name them. But I'm happy to report that both have made amazing recoveries.
The problem? I usually name bettas as soon as I get them, but I'm stumped on these two. I like to have names relevant to their personality, appearence, or manner of rescue, but I just can't think of any for these guys, because so many horrible things happened to them, they're pretty average looking, and I don't know too much about their personality this early on. So here's some info on each fish, and maybe you can help suggest a name.
Unnamed Betta 1 - Dark greyish-hued male plakat with red and blue on finnage. Agressive, but has a noticable swimming disability and thus moves rather slowly and seems fearful of neighboring males. Very interactive and interested in humans. Nearly died from septcemia; also had Ich, internal and external parasites, severe facial wounds, and badly nipped finnage.
Unnamed Betta 2 - Standard red/blue mixed color CT male. Absolutely HUGE. Hyper-agressive and flighty around people. Poses and flares non-stop. Was missing majority of finnage and had extensive injuries to the face, gills, and sides. Also had Ich and a heavy parasite load.
Here's pics of them - note that they are still in recovery, and while they look better every day, the CT especially still looks rough because of the fin damage.
PK - He has darkend up since this photo was taken, and the reddish hue at the base of his tail (body, not fin - red on fins is just markings) is gone (it was remenants from all of the hemmoraging he had in that area).
CT - Looks great from this angle because you can't see his stub-tail or the huge holes in his anal fin. The tail is red and blue, or is at least coming in that color.
