In a same room if I have my 150 gallon fish tank and 84 inch Tv do fish feel scared? ( It will be roughly 10feet far away)

I've had fish watch TV before ( way before TV's of that size ) not sure if they could focus on the TV, or just liked to watch the changing colors???

but the Jaws movies with surround sound... Maybe

Depends on the volume of tv sound.

Hello. The fish might react negatively if you had the TV turned up and were watching a war movie. Water is a very good conductor of sound. As for the picture, I doubt the fish would be affected one way or the other. I can't imagine a TV that size. I'm a retired person and don't even have a TV. I could never find anything i wanted to watch. I'd much rather have large fish tanks and watch my fish.

10 Tanks (Now 11)

It shouldn't be a problem. My community tank of the tv is also quite close to it. But it's more the higher volume that could be creating more vibration of the water. But then it really has to be outrageous loud.

I recommend having a small television on near an aquarium if it's in a room that nobody goes in to. The lights and movement on the screen help the fish get used to movement around them and they don't freak out and panic any time someone comes into the rooms. You can do the same thing with a small oscillating fan that has streamers tied to it. The streamers wave about and help the fish get used to movement around them.

Really interesting point!

I’ve had tanks in rooms with tvs before but not facing them so wasn’t sure how to reply to this thread - very good info in here!
