Following a hair cut I couldnt help but wander into my local LFS, it has quite a sound reputation and has been in business for many years. Despite this, the plants were lacking any kind of labels which immediately set alarm bells ringing. Again, despite this, I bought a few cheap 'lookers'. Having returned home I have no idea what they are and strongly suspect most will be coming out within the hour.

Please help identify this one in particular:

It has the looks of a typical non-aquatic spider plant but with bulbed roots I have never seen on a spider plant.

What am I?

Not sure on the first one, but not a dragon palm.. second is a sword, probably the Amazon sword.

yeahthe second looks an Amazon sword. The first looks like a Spider, my father in law keeps the in his aquarium, he never has them fully submurged though and they seem to do OK.

Thanks for the replies so far. If it is a Spider then clearly they are coming out and Ill have leared a valuable lesson about unlabelled plants, I am just thrown by the bulbed roots.

don't chuck em yet, someone may come along thats more experienced thank me a tell ya otherwise. I was always told the if they don't got limp out of water they are not a proper aquatic plants. I did notice P@H are selling these at the mo.

Chlorophytum comosum(Spider plant) Common house plant is what it is. Actually take it out put it in a pot and near a window but now direct sunlight even with neglect of this plant it can reproduce. If you are familiar with the Java Fern the Spider plant does the same thing for reproducing. As far as the roots go they have tubular roots so this is normal and definitly not an aquatic plant but they can thrive in many different conditions not sure about underwater but maybe half and half. Another thing that is happening in this picture is root rot. Look up the plant on google by the scientific name for caring for it you will get lots of information.

Second Photo
Its eaither Amazon Sword Echinodorus Amazonicus
Brazilian Swords bog plant
Mellon Sword
Its one of these just not sure what one I might lead to the Melon depending what happens with the leaves over time if they end up round its a mellon

Third Photo
hmm.. not sure what are you asking for ??

Spider plants are so easy to grow its scary. Just put it any place in the house water it every week or not even these things can't die. If I wanted too I could have 40 Spider plants by now because if the mother plant will not stop popping out babies. But they say if you keep the spider plant roots cramped up like my poor plant is they tend to have more platelets.

It's a cool plant I have no place for mine its too big.

Your so called spider plant looks nothing like mine. the leafs are thicker and a bit rounded. mine are long more like thick Grass blades.
