Hi,

I noticed that you've posted before on this same problem. People asked some details from you but you didn't reply.

I don't know any good links, but I've learnt a lot from reading new and old posts in the forum.

It might help if you answer some of the following:

What substrate do you use?
What size is your tank?
How many watts of light do you have?
Are you using CO2?
Which plants are you buying? Maybe you have low lighting but are buying plants that demand lots of light?

I may not be able to help myself, but if you provide more info there are other more experienced people that could help.

Sam

There is no single answer to growing plants. Plants come from a very wide range of sources, some from deep rain forrest where it is almost dark, others from brightly sunlit waters - and all shades in between.

Light is almost always the problem. Without the right quantity and quality of light, plants as living entities, just don't work - light is their fuel.

After light, they need nutrients to convert into more plant. The majority of these in regular tanks without special lighting are supplied by your fish and by small amounts of trace element fertilisers.

A good substrate is a "nice to have" but plants will grow in pretty much anything given the other items.

The questions Sam asked are key. Without knowing what you are trying to grow, in what, under what, it is hard to say what the problem is.

Another very common problem is that a lot of plants which are not true aquatic plants are sold for aquarium use - no end of trickery will get these to grow, they just die and rot.

To answer your question, unless you have a special reason for doing otherwise, you should remove plants from the pots and wool they are shipped in.

its a juwel aquarium with built in filter, bout 3 feet maybes.

just pure gravel in the bottom, and type of plants? i dont honestly know,

i know my info is very vague here, so thanks for helping me
