Bill? in England we have free medical care so i dont have to pay a thing. I even got all the antibiotics free and 100 500mg paracetamol...... Americans get screwed by their own medical care, just watch Michael Moore's "Sicko", even Cuba has far superior healthcare to the US.

As for the fish, well hes fine, gave him a big meal of frozen fish yesterday. Its just missing the majority of its right pectoral spine, which will grow back.

I know exactly how you feel, last year i spiked myself on a red snapper i was descaling and ended up in hospital and having an operation to remove the spine from my finger. Three weeks off work and a months course of anti biotics was not fun, by the third week my guts were so bad that all i could eat was soup where the anti biotics had stripped all my natural bacteria away.

At least you had the sense to go straight to hospital though, i waited two days and had to go in the end because i had blood poisoning.

Yeah, the elite club of people who are stupid enough to seriously injure themselves with fish

Hope you recover well and quickly, make sure you get lotsa good food and plenty of sleep .

I've heard of similar accidents happening with large common and sailfin plecos, their skin gets very bristly as they get older and i have known people to get nasty skin infections from handling such plecos and getting their skin punctured by the bristly skin of the pleco.
