Well today I went for a little wander around my LFS not looking for anything in particular, more to have a little chat about returning a pair of GBRs but anyway I'm going off topic...

After having a good old chin wag (almost 45 mins of fish talk, my kids were pulling their hair out lol) I had myself a little look about and there they were, there was only four left so I took them, I had too, I've wanted them for ever! The whole substrate change fiasco was just for them!

So here they are my super super cute little false juliis

I will be going back in a couple of weeks for another four, he has my number now, I was like; as soon as you know they're coming, call me!!

Very nice.love my corys.just got 8 pygmys for my 20 gallon.

I love them! I first seen them in my local maidenhead aquatics store they were advertised as julii, but after a bit of research I found out they were falsies.

They weren't too happy about me going back to correct them lol, fish geek.

I just love their patterns, especially the labyrinth type of pattern on their heads.

They had some pepperd ones in too I've only ever seen pics of them before they have such lovely colours!

And don't even get me started on the pygmies, they are just cuteness overload!!!

Yeah I have peppered and pandas in my main tank.truly entertaining.the pygmies are very funny too.

They are a lovely fish I have a small group of them mixed in with my peppered corys. I love panadas but have had no luck with them but my strebia are doing well in a huge shoal. One day I hope to either get gold or green lasers or Black Venezuela

  my personal holy grail.
Just a word of warning it looks like the cory in the 3rd picture is suffering from fin rot on its dorsal fin, that or it was getting nipped at the shop.

I love Corys too, and have many. Glad you are planning a group as they will be awesome together. I know what you mean about talking fish, we have probably all experienced it, no-one else seems to get it! Hence, places like this, where others are like us ;)

My favourites are the Aldolfo Cory and I keep adding to my group hoping they would breed, and if you think adults are cute, wait until you see the Cory fry, topic to follow ;)

Baccus, I have not had much luck with the Venezuela, it may have something to do with how they are bred!? I bought some gold lasers and although they were chunky, I could not get them to eat and they passed away. I now believe they were possibly wild caught, poor things just were not able to adapt, I love them and the green lasers, but in the end changed my plan to just have a very large group of Aldolfo.

Baccus I think you may have been right, I got up this morning switched my lights on and there he was on his side in amongst some twisted Vallis :(

He's still alive, just. I've popped him in the hospital tank for the time being dosed with esha2000. I dont want any other fish picking on him while he's ill.

I'm due a water change today on the main tank so will do that in a bit then treat that too.

I'm heartbroken! I hope he pulls through poor little guy.

The emotional rollercoaster that is fish keeping I suppose ;(

Sorry to hear this, if he passes make sure you take a picture and advise the LFS, you may wish to contact them anyway. Good stores usually replace fish if they go within 24 hours. Sometimes they request water for testing.

I rang them this morning, they were fantastic about it, they always are. As they were the last four he's offered me a full refund which was kind of him.

The little guy is still alive, to be honest I'm quite shocked as he was almost dead when I found him this morning :(

I really hope he makes it but I'm not expecting much poor guy, my heart breaks when I see him!

Great news with the LFS. I hope your Cory makes it, sometimes though we have to sadly accept that they have been through much before making it into our aquariums. Good luck little Cory.

Love your new additions! I love corys they are so much fun to watch, sadly i lost my albino recently and he had an amazing personality.

I hope your little guy pulls through!

Thank you every one for your lovely words, but unfortunately he passed away during the night.

To say I'm upset is an understatement

The guy at the LFS was so good about it it's made me feel slightly better, I'm just so dissapointed!

I've wanted these little guys for so long and finally getting them and loosing one with in a day or so is heartbreaking.

Poor little guy RIP

Sorry to hear that

At least they have been really good at your LFS, hard to come by ones that would be so kind about things.

Like previously mentioned is probably got something to do with all of the transporting that has taken it's toll on the fish. Let's hope they get some more in soon

Sorry to hear that the little guy passed, always sad losing a fish especially one you have longed for and not easily come by.
Would the LFS make a special order for you for more? That way they can ring/ contact you as soon as your shipment arrives and you can immediatly acclimatise the fish to your tank rather than going through the stress at a shop.

Thankfully if I ever do branch out into lasers I can get either wild caught or tank bred, I think  I would go tank bred over wild caught
