I already have stocking compatablity problems, and what do I do today make it 10 times worse. I balt today, 2 zebra danio fry witch will proberely be eaten by my badis badis. As thats the only place I can put them. 1 male guppy, be should be fine. BUT I got a Male BN pl*co, he has damage on his back and top fin is split, I want to put him in with my female in my newt tank.

OOOOOO ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'll update my profile so you can see the situation I'm in.

Why can't I stop buying fish.

EDIT: my profile is now updated with the fish I own.

I know you think that breeding traps and nets are evil, but maybe just using one for now for the danio fry might help? It can separate them from the badis badis so that they don't get eaten. Maybe one of the vented plastic ones would be better than a net one because there'd be no space between the plastic supports and the net for the fry to get squished.

Orrr, do you have a hospital/QT tank? If you do, you can always put the male BN pl*co and the danio fry in there until the fry are a little larger and the BN is a little healthier. :)

Thanks for your reply.

I don't think I have any nets traps anymore, I could move my Badis Badis back to my main tank, the danio fry will be safe then.

I think the Pl*co will be fine once he settled in, Just hope he likes the female I have. The LFS had fry, With they did'nt know about till they moved a big bit of drift wood, yesterday, it could be he was there father and reseved the damage wile looking after them. I do hope he was'nt cos the poor fry will have no one now.

I shore we will figour out a way, we always do.
I just can't beleave, I could be so stupied in buying fish I have no real room for.

Well I supose it goes to show, it does'nt have to be the newbie's that get it wrong.

How does your skunk loach get along with the other fish?

I have some in my 55g and they are pretty aggressive. I've heard (I think from Lateral Line) where they have a tendency to attack corys and are fond of their eyes. I have one that is about 5 years old, and he is out-right nasty. They are the loudest fish I've ever owned, with the "clicking"

My experience: I moved a juvie to a 10g to kill off a snail problem, and my pitbull plec ended up with an eye missing. He died 3 days later. :( The only other fish in the tank were juvie swordtails.

The best solution to over-stocking is to buy more tanks. I went from 1 tank to 8 tanks, since joining this forum. Another solution is to get into live plants. I'll buy plants now, instead of fish, and still be happy with a "new addition".

My skunk use to be a problem, he was balt to get rid of snails in my fry tank, when he was half an inch long, he now 2 inch's, and as I said did become a problem at one point, but he settled right down now, most the time he hides.

If he becomes a problem again, he'll be going to my LFS for rehoming.

I love to have another tank, I love to get a 5g and devided it, for my Betta boys, it would free up my 12 alot more, but my house is full with just the 2 I have, (i life in a VERY small house.)

I moved the Badis, they went happy where they were anyway, I put them back where they where in the fist place, and the fry have gong into there section.

So all happy for now.
I think :dunno: :look: :)
