I hope somone can help me? i have a 25 gallon tank that has been runni8ng for two weeks, in ther i have 6 neon tetras, 6 guppies, 3 silver sharks and 2 silver mollies. they have all been fine for five days but a few hours ago they were all at the surface gasping for air. i went through the book i had with the tank and it said about a 30% water change. i done this by getting the water to the tempriure of the tank and putting the conditioner in. the fish all chirped up for a while and i thought i had saved them. but now they are all on the surface gasping for air, what can i do???????????

Added to many fish to soon your tanks cycling.
Immediate water change.
Increase aeration in the tank.
Read up on a cycling tank.
I would take the bala sharks back they need large tanks even when little.

thank you for the advice on the sharks, did not know they needed so much room, we were told by the fish shop where we bought the tank they would be fine. Ive looked on the web and they grow very very big and its not fair on them to be in such a small tank. my fish are alot better now, ive done several water changes and i put some biological supplement in. do you no of another type of shark fish i could put in a 25 gallon tank that would not grow in the way the bala sharks do and dont need loads of room. i have never had tropical fish before so i dont know a great deal about them, but im learng every day. thankyou.

There are no sharks for a 25 gallon I'm afraid.
You can get some smaller sharks like red finned shark but they are very agressive and they need 40 gallons.
Research your fish before you buy they or your waiting for a disaster to happen.
