my betta hadnt eaten in about 2 weeks and i was told i should soke the food in garlic. when i got up today he was fine i went out and got some garlic and when i got back one of his eyes is really poped out and the pupil has gone white and he cant see out it, the other is a bit swolen but not as bad and still black and he can still see out it.
i but him in a 5g tank on his own with a fillter and heater and it only has 4" of water. i but a few bits of aquriums salt in. hes eating the bloodworm now but is there anythink else i can do?
he was in a divided 14g tank and he had 4g.
the water states are all fine.

You need to treat with a bacterial med like anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Has the iris of the eye gone black.
Does he look thin or bloated.
Is his spine bending.

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 5
ph 6.5

whats iris/?
he looks al little skinny but not like a bad skinny just on the skinnyer side of fine.
no his spine is fine
and i dont know if it helps but he has thin white bands round his eye

the eye of fish goes full black when they are stressed. normally its white with black in the middle.

Whats your location.
Did he go thin before not eating or after.

norfolk, england
after he got a bit skinnyer but he still looks perfectly healthy apart from his eyes.

o i know what you mean now
one eye has red and blue around the pupil like normal but that eye is a bit swollen but the other eye is black around the pupil and really swollen and the pupil has gone white.

Ok.
Add anti internal bacteria by interpet to the tank.
A black iris can be a symtom of fish tb. Just wanted to make sure thats all.

I would get the med fast.
I will get you a tb link to look at. But Don't panic. It might not be that.

Humans can only get tb throw cuts and wounds. Wear gloves if you suspect your tank has fish tb.
You have to be exposed a long time to catch fish tb. People are more prone if they have a weak immune system.

i wont be able to get it my lfs will be closed.
and i got a bit of the water from the tank in my mouth when i was trying to get the syphon could i get it from that?

I wouldn't start the syphon off with your mouth just to be on the safe side.

I wouldn't worry to much is hard to say a fish has tb without having tests done of a fish.
It only showing one sign and it might not be fish tb.
If the spine bends or the fish goes skinny you can start to think fish tb.

well hes stopped eating, has pop eye and if i walk in late at night and put the light on and the light has been off for a lil while he swimms in voilent rushed and smacks into things.

He could be dying as darting a sign.

Darting can mean bad water qulaity, stray voltage, toxins, overdose of med, ph shock, the fish is dying, parasites.

Its not sounding to good.
