Hi

Can anyone confirm what it is? Thanks.

Aye, looks like a juvenile sajica. As it matures the fins should colour up more red, and the eyes should become a striking blue colour (you can see that a bit already.)

Cheers people. Was labelled as a festivum at my local MA. Have just swapped them with some tetra's instead, which is good of them.

hey holidayin hows the tank you got from nd coming along?

hey mark, the tanks coming along well. The tank itself is solid, well braced and excellent sliding covers. The only slight problem I had was trying to get the filter pipe inflows/outflows in, but worked around it. Very impressive work by ND. The hood however have had a couple of problems very recently. The hood contains two flaps whcih you can open/close for feeding, maintenance etc. Where these two flaps meet the edges are starting to expand, where the melamine is coming away from the chipboard. This looks rather unsightly and is only going to get worse, however spoke to John at ND, he says that ND don't make the stands/hoods but he will get the guys that do to send me new flaps and I can just screw them back on. Again, great and prompt service.

Will post pics soon just got exams round the corner and want to make the tank look 'more presentable'. I sold a lot of my fish last weekend, so the stocking currently is 1 Male EBJD (about 7"), 1 red spotted severum (about 2"), 2 juvie geophagus 'red heads' (planning to get couple more) and about 8 clown loaches. The open space looks kind of empty, and I'm still debating to get and O and a GT or something different.

your hood sounds like its made differently to mine. mine is basicly 1 solid sheet sawn in half olng the length and hinged. still good that they are sorting it . i think a gt would make a nice addition to the tank lovely fish

I think if I remember your photo's correctly, the concept is similar, instead of one four foot piece, you have two 2 foot pieces, in my case two 3 foot pieces, where these pieces meet, the wood is going bad, not something I was expecting in under two months of ownership, but they are resolving it, so couldn't ask for more. Yeah a GT would be nice!! Just want to be sure, had enough of buying fish and then changing my mind lol

no my hood is 1 4 foot piece. cut down the middle and hinged. so when you open the hood it opens along the whole length.

what caused yours to peel? was it condensation?

Sorry, what i meant was, applied to your tank, it would be 2 2foot pieces alongside one another, like having the 4foot piece cut down the middle. It's where cut takes place that the wood is starting to distort. All other edges are perfect.

I've no idea re - the cause, as there's never any condensation in the hood. The sliding covers are great and ND have added vents in the hood, located above the filter entry points, so never any issues.
