Hey hey,
Give me some ideas here.
I am about to get a 120g and I have twisted feelings about which way to go with it.

1 or 2 big fish?
saltwater?
the kick-butt-enest communtiy ever?
100 neon tetras?

What would you do (or what have you done) with that much room?

:D well if you wanted marines.. youd need to do a hell of a lot of research and spend a fair deal of money really...
emmm...

ok what id do with that is probably add some nice sand on the bottom... making sure i add a layer of jbl plant fertiliser aswell to help my plants grow...

id then add some nice pieces of bogwood, to which id attach some java moss and some plants to other pieces...

id also get an assortment of plants all different to make it look all nicee :D

ok as for fish.... hmmm id have to go for...
first off some nice varieties of cories... eg cory pandas, hastatus, pygmy, pepper cories....

then id probably go for a pair or 2 of dwarf sichlids (cichlids) like apistogramma cacatoids...

id add also some odessa barbs, male and female... and maybe add a few long fin-ancistrus:)

or alternatively... have the substrate sand... fill the tank like half way.. add some rocks and bog wood but make sure it come out of the water more... specially the flat rocks...
and then add some mud skippers and maybe some brackish sole fish.

(brackish set up)

thats all in a dream world tho lol :D :p

i would go for a really nicely planted communtiy tank and bogwood structures consisting of male and female guppies, neon, lutino and black neon tetra's. male and female BN plec, apple snails and a few dwarf gouramy's. Well thats my ideal tank that I hopefully can put into action when i move out. nice understocked tank so the fish have loads of room but still looks busy.

im facing the same decision. id like to get 4 grown bala sharks, a 24" plec, and a school of clown loaches.

Personally I did New World Cichlids
firemouth
Oscar
Jack Dempsey
Texas Green cichlid.

Having some problems with one firemouth being too agressive though.

If I had to choose, I'd do african chilids, but that is also partially because of my local water. Plus, I think they are absolutely georgous!
Thats my next project tank :kana:
Just been trying to decide between 55 and 75 gallons.

I'd say go for the 75. You can never have a big enough tank, and will always want a bigger one than you have anyways
I agree, i have a 40gallon and im a little stumped on trying to get everything i want making my african tank.. 75 gallons would be heaven :kana:

Especially since the little woman wants like at least 10 yellow labs in the mix.

Hey, it sounds like you've already got permission for this!
Kinda.
Technically I have permission for a nano cube so she can have a real clownfish.

She says she wants a tank full of "doggies" yellow labs. But then balks when I mention another largeish tank.

So I may have to buy the Nano Cube for her first.
