Ideas Please?

Hi all. I will soon be redesigning and re populating my tank, i wanted some ideas! and wondered if any of you could answer some basic questions for me!

I have a 15 gallon tank. the inhabitants of which will be in the new set up, 3 corydoras!
I am tempted to add some shrimp of some sort!
Do they get on ok with corys, the largest one is a big female and when spooked i can imagine she would squash a shrimp!!!
Also i have two small gaps about a cm wide and an inch long where cables enter the tank, can shrimp climb up and out? if so, what coud i use to stop this?

What would you recommend i put in with the corys, i previously had angels but dont fancy them again, i like keyhole's but would they attack shrimp!

I think Shrimp will be okay in with cories as long as you have plenty of plants and cover, I've heard that cories will munch on baby shrimp. Shrimp live better with ottos, than they do with cories, so If I were you I wouldn't risk it. Especially if you want to breed the shrimp.

Will i need to seal those gaps for the shrimp! to stop any escapes!
