What's the capacity of the tank?

Bala/Silver shark need more space than that i think, and also prefer to be in small groups.

How big are you wanting?

think it will be around 600 liters. the tank is 5ftx2ftx2ft. ive kept silver shark in my 3ft tank i gave it away when it got to about 5"

got plenty of choices with a 5x'2x'2

only problem being if you want bigger fish, quite a lot of them are gonna be predatory to your existing fish.

you could have a group of clown loaches in there, they're happiest in a decent size group and shouldn't be predatory to your small fish.

ok what if i got rid of all the guppies neons mollies and cat fish. and just keep the plec im sure they will be fine but then what will my fish choice be ?

you've loads of options, are you thinking of something a little different? do you like fish with colour, personality? what about decorating the tank, do you have any preferences?

well i guess im kinda of bored of little communitiy fish. colours would be good. as for decorating the tank im really open to anything. just throw ideas at me

ok i'd go for some nice cichlids and that sort of thing.

you could have your clown loaches, with a couple of nice showpiece plecs. Then some severums, firemouths, geophagus, jack dempsey that sort of thing. not sure if the silver sharks would fit but i think maybe, wait for someone else to confirm/deny though. with cichlids you get bags of personality and plenty of colour. however most of them are not very plant tolerant so you'll be limited with decor.

another option which is community, but not your bog standard community, which i've always fancied is a group of discus or angels, then a massive shoal of praecox rainbows, shed loads of cories. Just limit it to 3/4 species but have loads of each one, the effect of really large groups of these fish can be absolutely stunning.

for colour you don't get much brighter than african cichlids, i'm no expert but you could do a nice rocky malawi set up in a big tank like that.

What about an african cichlid tank. Maybe an mbuna setup. Some real nice looking fish.

mmmm i think i still want to sick with a greener tank planted
