Hi Everyone,

I am a South African fish enthusiast hoping to set up a fishtank in the next few months. I have had fishtanks before, but this time I want to start afresh, and take my time to set everything up.

I was hoping to get ideas from all you lovely people on which fish to get(I love just about all of them). Here's the catch: I don't have space for anything bigger than a 50 litre tank(62cm long 34cm wide 34cm high), so I need fish that will fit that size tank. Otherwise, go crazy. Any favourites that will fit a 50L? Single species setup? Community tank? Oh, and no marines please. Brackish or freshwater only.

Thanks in advance, I hope that this will be an interesting discussion.

A bunch of tetras would be pretty nice, IMO.

What is that in inches, sounds like a 15 gallon?

If it's a 15 gallon I would do a small community tank with a small school of 8 Neons or Glowlights, 6 Threelined Corries and a centerpiece fish like a Dwarf or Honey Gourami.  You could sub out the Gourami for a Platy or two, or a small group of Guppies.

It' a simple, easy mix that should work well but I'm sure there are some more interesting stockings that will suggested soon enough.
