Idea's For A Cichlid Tank

Hi

After keeping my 371L community tank for about a year now ive moved a lot of the fish on to there own tanks and stared to muse about a cichlid only tank (well i say cichlid only but my snowball plec would be staying as would the cory;s

atm I have 4 Flag Cichlids
2 Keyhole Cichlids
8 Checkerboard Cichlids
2 German Blue rams

Im looking for ideas to round this tank off now I have a Eheim pr03 2080 and a Eheim 2217 running both fully matured and im more than used to 50-60% weekly water changes. So what would you add if anything and how many ?
I did ponder a pair of angels in the mix as i can get a stunning pair free but not to sure. For schoaling fish i quite fancy platinum tetras.

I think the Angels would do well mate. The thing with the fish you already have is that most of them will occupy the bottom 1/2 of the tank so it may become a bit crowded. Do you plan to get pairs from the fish you have or keep all of them? You may experience problems if and when they breed.

may i ask why your doing 50-60% weekly water changes? that seems a bit much for a matured tank?

Agree with minnnt that the bottom area of your tank sounds pretty full already, so adding fish that will fill the midwater and upper areas would fit the bill. I reckon angels would be ideal. Maybe a festivum too.

Nothing whatsoever wrong with 60% weekly WC, so long as the water you are adding is not significantly changing the water parameters. I'll bet the fish love it !

The reason for the fairly large WC is i usually keep my tanks slighlty overstocked and dose EI ferts so a nice big weekly WC is pretty much a requiremnent to keep everything humming nicely.

Deff Angels if you want a mid top dweller, tbh they're more active and interesting than you think too, mine bosses my tank big time lol
