Hey. :D

Just bought this fish (impulse, shoot me). It was sold as a "Freshwater Pipefish". Not a problem if it is brackish, i have salt. :good:

Sorry for bad quality pics

Oooo That looks cool and different... Im terrible with impulse buy's! Just cant help myself... :hyper:
Where did you get it from i want one!! I have a brackish tank  :hyper:

it was the last one! lol

they got loads in and they said that they were really popular.

I'd get your water to around 1.005 and have a large supply of live foods if you're planning on keeping it for any duration of time. notoriously finicky feeders, and the difficulty is in IDing them...

Hey Fella :D

I think i've IDed him. I'm pretty sure he's a Microphis brachyurus aculeatus.

He is already feeding on frozen brine shrimp. :good:

sg is 0.001 atm, gunna increase it by 0.001 every week, to keep the bacteria alive lol.

boo hoo the pic don't work which is bad cos I want a pipe fish!!lol

How's this guy doing, Esfa?

he's "fine".... grown a bit.. hes in a lightly brackish tank with BBGs...and ramshorn snails! The only problem is, is that he isnt eating anything! Well nothing that i'm feeding... i've tried live blood worms, live brine shrimp, live white worms... nothing... he just hangs upside down above the food for ages...

yet surely he'd be dead by now if he wasnt eating? He doesnt look any skinnier then when i got him. All very strange...

update. :D i now have two of these guys, both eating well on bloodworm :D they are now in freshwater, they seem a lot happier then when they were in lightly brackish. :good:
