I dont think so, the advert says its 12" ish I was thinking maybe a nic or a true parrot? like snowflakes?

I don't think it's a true parrot. the shape does look like it. The parrots have a broken black stripe that runs from the gills to the tail. If it is one it's a really ugly one. The true parrot has more markings this fish is dull in comparison to the parrot.

But It is a really poor photo. Any way you could ask for a better photo? Where is the fish what country.

At first I thought some kind of acara. But the face looks like a big old Nic.

100 percent not a true parrot, 100 percent not a texas cichlid either, im 99 percent sure its not a nic either.

I'm thinking some kind of CA cichlid or maybe african. It does not look like a SA cichlid.

iam thinking a tilapi of sorts, needs better pics for certain, im leaning toward spotted tilapi,but cannot see the tail

It does look like a Tilapia mariae.
