I've found a small, green, caterpiller-like bug wrapped in a little leaf cocoon attached to the glass today.
Any ideas? It's about 3 mm in diameter and about 10mm in length...looks exactly like a little bug you would expect to see in the garden.
Safe or dangerous? Leave as fish food or remove asap? I've very few fish in at the moment and the ones I do have must be overfed because they're no interested in munching it?

Thanks, Andy

Sorry for lack of photos, camera charging

Does it wriggle on the surface of the water?

Not at the moment....it's attached with it's leaf cocoon to the glass. Just attached at 1 end moving in the current.

Beats me.

The thing I posted sort of fitted the description. It was from when I fed live blood worm. The bloodworm would sink to the bottom, and bury themselves if they didnt get eaten. Months later they hatched out those horrific things.

Good luck in trying to find out what your fella is :D

Cool. thanks anyway. No live food in this tank yet. i'm guessing it piggybacked on a plant and survived the cleaning somehow? No worries, i've a pair of angels to go in soon...it won't last long, i'm sure.

How big is the tank? If you wanted, you could get some cool USO (Un-known swiiming object) killers. :saddam: :eek:sama:

That's a great idea, ethos. It's a 170L (45US GAl). I can't get anything too 'efficient' as i've a lot of small fish but i was thinking of some dwarf cichlids? What had you in mind?
