i am using Protozin. by waterlife..hope it works

and I was gonna go get a few more fish today good thing I didn't wouldn't want them to suffer.

Just did a 50% water change about to add the ich stuff I'll put what it's called later.

The stuff is called mardel coppersafe. For ick velvet and other external parasites. I also think the tetras have velvet while the rest of the fish have ick. But they might all have ick.

That is the same thing I am using. Dose once and it is good for a month. Get a bucket so you can keep track of how much water you remove for your water change and ONLY dose for the amount to replace. IN high doses, medications can wipe out your stock.

ok thanks for the info. i also bought a product it was like jungle ick gone but I decided to use this stuff when I thought the tetras might have velvet.

I am having the same problem... ICH SUCKS!!! :shout:

I have 3 gouramis, 2 mollies, and 1 pleco.

My one black female molly has it the worst, I've been treating her with ich-attack by kordon for about 4 or 5 days now..

I have the water-heater in there, but it only goes up to 78F.. how can I raise the temperature more?

It started with little white dots, but my poor molly now is covered in fuzzy white stuff. She is naturally pitch black and now it looks as if she has white fuzzy fins. I feel so bad for her :/

It seems like she has trouble swimming and is found mostly sitting on the gravel or hiding. Is there a possibility that she might die before she is fully cured?

I've already lost TWO mollies and she's my favorite! This is very frustrating!

Well if she's sitting in the gravel I'm pretty she she's scratching herself as well as if she scrapes up on the wall. Mine aren't having trouble swimming but I think mine actually have velvet based on the description on the bottle and your description of ick.

Good to know but I already use a bucket for my water changes.

ick looks like very small salt grains

if i was you id research zochick as the discription your giving doesnt sound like ich

hope the mollie recovers

If one of your fish gives birth in a tank with ich will they have ich too or can I move them to my fry tank?

whether it is ich or velvet it's geting worse.

I think everything will be allright in the end but I may lose a few fry if I can't move them to the fry tank. Oh well.... :grr:

The tetras look like they might die 2 of them are swimming with their head below their tail. Ich. :grr: all the tetras are twitching ad well

Just checked up on the fish. Tetras are still twitching but theyre not swimming weird anymore. Everyones doing ok at the moment but should I just leave the newborn fry in there or should I move them to the fry tank. I'm worried they might have ich though.

If they fry aren't stressed, then they probably will not get it. Most fish actually naturally have ich to some degree. Stress lowers the immunity of the fish and allow the ich to take over and become a problem. One of the key factors to treating ich is to identify the source of stress. In such situation, my malawi tank. 2 of my malawis have developed it in response to the aggressiveness of my Red Zebra. I have taken the Red Zebra back to the LFS as there was no improvement in the sick fish because the Zebra was chasing them trying to attack. Hopefully now that the stressor is removed, adequate healing can begin.

Have you been monitoring your water parameters? Bad water quality is also a stress inducer.
