Basically I wanted to know why on the instructions for Ich says to remove any carbon filter?

Is it because it reacts to neutralise the treatment or does it bugger up the tank even further?

Carbon removes the meds from the tank, that why you have to take it out of the filter.

Never be scared to ask.
Wasting your money running black carbon all the time, it only good for removing meds.

Carbon adsorbs the treatment. The one thing carbon is good for is *after* the treatment is finished. Then you can put it in for 3 days and it will clear out the meds. Otherwise carbon should just sit in the aquarists storage shelf.

A small handful of carbon has the surface area of a tennis court. It clears substances like meds but is only effective for about 3 days at most.
