Hey all need some advice I want to purchase a small tank so I can start to grow plants any advice would be highly appreciated.
I want to know best n easy plants, what I need ect ect.
Thanks in advance xx

Java fern are very easy- they don't require much of anything. Full spectrum LED lights are fine, 7-10 hours a day. Just attach them with some fishing wire to driftwood, rocks, etc and they are very hardy. Hornwort is also very hardy and can be a floating plant, although I have had issues with it shedding all over the tank when you first put it in. Java moss is super easy- it will grow literally anywhere!

Java fern, anubias, water wisteria, and Marimo moss balls are all great options. The easiest one would probably be the moss balls- mine has been in a jar without waterchanges for almost a year now, and it’s still alive! These moss balls are very hard to kill.

Agree with all the above. ^

Anacharis is another good one - easy to grow and looks great. It will also help cycle your tank faster, if you are in the process. :)

If you want to decorate your tank, get some low light and hardy plants such as Anubias Nana which can be attached to driftwoods,..
plus some Java Ferns.

Also, get some fast growing plants such as Cabomba, Hornworts, Anacharis Elodea which can help to absorb ammonia produced by the fish.

All the plants mentioned above are excellent starter plants. I've also had great luck with amazon swords and Bacopa monnieri . They grow quickly and are very pretty although amazon swords do get pretty large so it may not be the best for a small tank.

Sand is better.

As you're in the UK, I'd recommend TNC Lite for fertilizer
