I Want A Fire Eel

Im not sure if a 48 gallon is big enough for a fire eel.. help?

min tank size for adults is around the 400ltr (100USG) mark.
I had one in my 42g for 3-4 months but moved him on wednesday to my 100g.
if you have the resources to rehome it in a few months then go for it,
if not please wait untill you can house an adult.

Yeh they can grow up to 18" (46cm).
