I just got 2 oscars (from a pet store) in a twenty gallon aquarium and i had 2 sucker fish (from walmart). Both of my sucker fish died. i think its just because of walmart. But anyways I am looking at my oscars and I see that there is little tiny white dots all over them not just by there gills but just all over. I went to walmart and got some tablets that kills parasites, I changed out 50 persent of the water, then did the treatment again and they're still not gone. What can i do? or am I doing something wrong?

sounds like your fish have ich. you might want to raise the temp in the tank up around 80 F or so and go and get some ich treatment.

Also make sure you provide a suitable home to minimize stress to prevent it from happening again. Do you have a big tank in line for these guys?

i have the temp in the water at 80. I also got Copper Safe to treat the ich. But the directions doesnt tell me to get rid of ich, how many times do I put the Copper Safe in the water. It just says to treat ich put in water once a month or with every water change. They have had ich for about 1 week now nad have been gettin the copper safe for about 4 days. I see that one fish is getting slightly better but the other isnt making any improvement. I have a twenty gallon tank and only 2 oscars. Also it seems to me that they are not eating too much. I give them pellets normally and every once in a while I would give them goldfish which is how they got ich. Instead of feeding them goldfish, should I feed them some shrimp so they will eat?

I rarely use live fish as feeders. I go to the store and buy cocktail shrimp tails. and also scallops and silversides. I only feed them what they are willing to eat and throw the rest away. I honestly would stay away from the use of other fish espically goldfish unless you keep them in a seperate tank for at minimum a month.
