I'm desperate to save my Rome. I did a 100% water change today and he is now cloudy eyed, at the bottom of the 1.5 gallon tank. I lowered the water so he can come up for air but he still won't.

My full description of the episode is on Tropical Fish Emergencies.

Please help me save him.

Most Betta's get healed by given a salt bath. You need a clean bucket and pour 2 teaspoon of salt in the bucket and then pour 1 gallon of water from the tank water in the bucket and let the salt dissolve well. Let the fish swim in the water anywhere from 5-15 minutes while observing his behavior and making sure hes not under too much stress. You can do this up to 3 times during the day. I recommend you never use medications in your main tank as it really takes a toll on the beneficial bacteria in your tank. So having the fish in a quarantine tank of about 10 gallons with a simple sponge filter will make it the ideal environment. Hope this has help.
