I think I’ve completed my fish in cycle. :good:

Today is day 24 and I have had 0ppm on both Ammonia and Nitrite since day 20, Nitrate has been steadily rising to 50ppm.

As a complete beginner I feel really proud of myself! It was hard at times and the constant water changes were a pain, but all my fish survived and all look healthy and happy.

I just wanted to share my good news lol :good:

I have a 138LTR tank 11 Danios & 12 Juvenile Cichlids. I was planning on cycling with the Danios, but I ended up acquiring the Cichlids in a really poor tank, in a bid to save them I put them in with the Danios as that tank was in better condition. Seemed to work as they all survived and my cycle is complete (i hope) :look:

Thats good any fish should survive a cycle if water changes are done correctly.
Do you know what cichlids they are? because some can grow quite large and can be aggressive.

Congrats on the cycle! Your hard work is paying off.

I think I have 2 yellow lab’s, 1 red dragon peacock and I’m not really sure about the rest, look like orange blotch? I know they are aggressive little buggers! I got 2 flying fox to help with the algae and they terrorised them, eventually to their death poor things.

If you have african cichlids then i would suggest re homing them or your other fish, most local fish shops will take them off your hands.
I would suggest you read this about african cichlids. I am just upgrading to a african cichlid tank a stocking your tank is an art in itself to make sure the aggression is controlled.
