I put in bogwood and rearranged a whole bunch of stuff. And I didn't rinse my bogwood. The water is a little cloudy, but I don't think it affects the fish. Maybe it's under a lot of stress. Maybe it just had a heart attack. Because when I turned around like 30 seconds ago. It was wiggling like crazy, then it just stopped and floated towards the bottom. It's right side up, but I think it stopped moving. Maybe it's resting.

Oh, and it's a cycle fish. The Nitrite levels are over 1ppm. I put in one of those fish that are 1 step above feeder fish, I bought it with extra change ($1.00), and I wanted to see how it'll do!

You have a link in your sig to fishless cycling, yet you're using fish to cycle your tank. Why?

The written word is always harsher but your 'written' attitude towards the fish seems quite callous, but as I say the written word always seems harsher.

I would recommend you remove any remaining fish from your tank and carry on with a fishless cycle. You know where the link is.

its the cycle that killed it.

What size tank, i have a big feeling that it is going to be too small for a goldfish.

i am sorry for your loss, but is saddens me everytime i see someone using live fish to cycle their tanks, so not-needed and quite cruel really.

EDIT: not calling YOU cruel, as you might be a perfectly compassionate fish keeper, but the ACT is cruel in my opinion, dont mean to offend

It's a 22 gallon. And I think it was all of the Bogwood and plant decorations I put at once that killed it. I went on a big aqua shoping spree ($60 worth of stuff, lol).

You bought a fish, knowing that you have nitrites in your tank which are lethal to fish, with spare change, just 'to see how it would do'. That comes across at best uncaring and at worst sadistic.

I see from your profile you're very young and when we're young we don't truly value life. However I truly believe that every living creature (even a lowly fish) has the right to life and when they are in our care we have a duty to make their short life as plesant and healthy as we possibly can. Mistakes happen and we all have fish die on us from time to time but to buy a cheap fish purely for the purposes of experimentation is a very cruel act indeed.

We all have different morals and values, if yours allow you to treat a living creature with such little regard then I would ask you to reconsider your decision to keep fish if their welfare means so little to you.

I fish is a fish, regardless of cost, the life of a cheap fish is every bit as important as an expensive fish. Once it's gone, it's gone, that little fish's one chance at life over.

Some fish simply do not interest me at all. However, I'm with Scooter Chick on this. Regardless of your age you do seem to not give a damn?!

I have three colour morph dwarf Gourami. I don't care much for breeders messing with genes. But they are still a part of my comunity tank. And they deserve the same quallity of life as my other fish.

lol 60 dollars is a shopping spree? How about 800 dollars at once and a total of 2000 dollars for the whole tank?

I dont care about how old people are, i am 14 and i will do my best to keep my fish happy and healthy by providing the right environment for them. Your age means nothing to me, you arent taking care of your fish therefor you shouldnt take care of one. If your parents took bad care of you im sure social services wont let them take care of you, if only there was a social service for fish.
