I Really Want A Bichir?

seeing a few in a fish shop ive decided this will be my next fish - they look so gorgeous!

not knowing much about them i thought i would as on here....anything i should know about them?

im guessing i cant put him in a tank with a rtc? which is a shame coz he would look great in there!!!

so maybe a tank with jack dempseys, fire eel and plec?

First identify the bichirs on sale. There are (relatively) small and gentle species that are best kept with large tetras, bristlenost cats, and so on. Then there are big, territorial species that are difficult to keep with anything. The smaller species would be fine in a 30 gallon tank, but the large species need much more space.

They are lovely fish though.
