I posted on supramans thread about a chocolate coloured siamese fighter, who I seen in dobbies garden world. Someone suggested I take a pic as it's an unusual colour.
I ended up bringing him home-I know I need a slap!
For those of you who haven't seen him already here is rusty.

I have never seen this colour before. Hence why I had to have him! If you notice, his tail has a black outline and his feeler fins at the front have neon blue on the tips.
At the moment I have a 64L and a 30L fry tank. The fry being in their own tank gave them an incredible growth rate and at only 2 weeks old have been put back into the main tank. The 2 female guppies are in this 30L until they drop as I am attempting to breed black guppies. Rusty in in there with them at the moment. The filter is the Fluval U2 upto 100L so is powerful enough for the load.
I do water changes on a sunday but when the fry were in it, it was daily.
Body wise the females are bigger than him and they are both half black which is probably why he isn't bothering with them but I have found fighters to be sneaky like that. Whilst in the settling in period, they are inquisitive and you can see them going around and checking things out. Once they get used to their new surroundings, that's when they show their true colours.
In the shop he flared at me when I put my finger to the tank-I have never had a fighter do that before so it was love at first sight!

Will keep everyone updated!

Why shouldn't you have?

hes lovely luckily iv never been bitten by the betta bug, only at the start of the hobbie, where it was my display fish

Because now I will need to get a 3rd tank as the 30L isn't big enough for him and 2 female guppies! Then again he will keep the population down plus when the females have dropped which I predict by friday, they will be moved back to the main tank!

I haven't really found any that are "different" and who I want to bring home. My last was bullied by mollies (highly unusual) and he died.

grr! lol i'm just trying to justify it now but what I am going to do is put the females back into the main tank and leave rusty into the 30L so I don't have to move things around to fit a 3rd tank! If I ever move out of here it's going to be some hassle!

Ha, it was me who asked for pictures, of course Betta Resistance is Futile (I have a new image for that post too ;)).
He looks lovely, and I am sure you will not regret bringing him home.  Welcome to the return of the Betta Club.
Do you know where he came from e.g. UK or Thailand ...?
Do you mind saying how much he was?

I love that color! It's really lovely. I'm not usually a fan of veil tails, but his color makes up for it.

Haha I blame you RCA! I am so glad I went back. The assistant was like I have never seen a gold one before I said i'm having him! My little has claimed him as hers. On friday I will go and get a small bag of either white or black sand. This gravels filthy, it really is.
I don't actually know where he is from. I paid £4.49 for him which is about the going rate for them in a LFS isn't it?
He's having fun exploring.
Here is another shot of him in his bag.

Thanks! It's usually just red or blue but this is so different!

I personally LOVE chocolates!  There is a transhipper that lives close to me that has some chocolate females on aquabid right now that I am sooo tempted to buy even though I am not keeping that kind of betta any longer.  He is a great find and looks great!

Aww that's handy you should get one anyway :p
Thanks, I have never seen a chocolate one before apart from pictures. I love him he's my blue eyed boy!

Those blue eyes are pretty impressive, my sparkling gourami have eyes like that :D

Plus you get on so well with your land lady I don't think you need to worry about the move yet? :D

Really nice grab, I think he might be a black mustard has. His colours should darken up more in a few days. Those blue eyes are killer, the only betta I have with coloured eyes is my male black copper gold hmpk with.

Thanks, his scales on his body are darkening giving him a speckled look. I keel panicking when I glance over and can't see him. I know they benefit from the tannins from wood, my water was practically tea coloured in that tank, but I did 2 water changes to clean that gravel and it's faded. I will get black sand to really make him stand out.
