I want a polypterus delhezi forr my 55 US gallon tank. I am completely redoing the stocking, but keeping my rhino pleco, and my ropefish. I wondered if i could use some cichlids. Could I?

P. S. My only cichlid experience is 3 Green Severums.

Yeah avoid big stuff like severums go for more mid sized stuff - Firemouths and ellioti would be good

I currently have 3 green severums. Are they to big for my 48" by 14" by 20ish"? And I would like fish with either personalitly or color. ( Or both :p )

Yeah green sevs get to between 10-12 inches each and they are quite a round fish for those species of severum you need at least 75 gallon for one but smaller species like severus and rotkiel are good from around 255 liters upwards.

Ellioti are very colourful and great characters one of the fish on my to own list just need to find the right one and get an other tank haha :D

Firemouths or Ellioti (v.similar) are both a good size for that tank, are v. colourful and are full of character. SHould get on with your other stuff too.

Another good option would be blue acara, sajica cichlids or rainbow cichlids.
