A male betta, some corys for the boottom and cardinal tetra? that's what I'd do

Just read you already have a Betta and Corys.

Cardinal tetras look good, you could have a nice shoal of them

You could have a species tank maybe? I saw se great spotted puffer things in the shop that I loved. They had lovely green markings and the most funny little faces but they had to be kept alone.

Green Spotted Puffers are a Brackish species, Red Eyed Puffers would however be suitable as a species only as recommended above.
