i am setting up a brackish tank

it is 100L 25*C

i have brought tetra marine sea salt and need to know how much salt to put in to make the tank 1.006

the calculations on the back say:

add 1kg per 33L @ 25*c to get 1.018

i need my tank at 1.006 so how much salt do i need to add??

PLEASE HELP!!!

i solved the problem using a simple proportion. here's how i did it:

1 kg / 33 L = 1/33 kg/L ~ 0.0303 kg/L

(0.0303 kg/L)/1.018 = (x kg/L)/1.006

x ~ 0.0299 kg/L

0.0299 kg/L * 100L ~ 3 kg

Buy a refractometer.
what he said :)

Don’t bother trying to work it out because it never works out properly anyway. Buy a salt measuring device and make the water up the day before you use it. This will allow you to get the salt levels correct before adding the water to the tank.

i already have my tank full of cycled water, i have a hydrometer,i dont want it marine, just slightly brackish

Also why does it have to be exactly 1.006?

if you are going low brackish, then it needn't be that high, and you can measure that kinda SG with a hydrometer - cheaper and easier than a refractometer if it doesn't need to be extremely accurate.
