if i take him what can i do for food to improvise...??? also he hasn't been fed for a VERY long time and i'm scared he will die if i don't take him..... is there any alternative to the pet store crickets?? i am talking about a hatian curly tail lizard and he is about 5-6 inches including the tail. any idea is welcome !!! thanks alot

See if there are some online suppliers of live food that will post crickets to you. There are dozens on the net... one of them must be able to get something to you. This website is Canadian: http://www.bugorder.com
You could also try contacting the Nova Scotia Herpetoculture Society and have a word with them... I'm sure they'll be able to help point you in the direction of somewhere to get live insects for your curly tail. I found their address for you:
Nova Scotia Herpetoculture Society
c/o Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History
1747 Summer Street
Halifax, NS, B3H 3A6
They may also be able to provide you with some specifics on the proper care of Haitian curly tails. Here are a couple of websites I found with a few specifics: http://www.centralpets.com/animals/reptile...ds/lzd5965.html
http://www.anapsid.org/curlytailed.html
Good luck... I hope that's of some help to you ^_^. Let me know how you get on?

If not crickets, how about silkworms. Ive heard their a great staple for most reptiles.

Yep silkworms are a good staple, as are roaches. Some reptiles won't take silkworms because they don't move much... others love them. The information I gave should give you a good head start on finding some bug sources.
