I always suggest at least 2 weeks of good health. If anything is wrong with the new fish you need to deal with it then start the clock again.

it's advisable to quarantine for a month, ther incubation period of some common problems such as ich is quite long and as such just quarantining for 1/2 weeks can be a bit pointless. if a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well, so leave them in for 1 month.

and yes, rummy noses are lovely little fish!
