Finally got my 55 set up :yahoo: :yahoo: with black sand, Lots of Plastic plants, and a large piece of driftwood. If I had a descent camera, I'd love to show it off  . Anyways, what i'm planning for it is this,

One angelfish (wanted a group, but too frightened of all the breeding-kill-all-the-other-fish-in-the-tank situation, so just one.)

Twelve to Fifteen Harlequin Rasboras

Five Khuli Loaches

And Three or four Bolivian Rams.

Now, just a couple of questions...

Will a full-grown angelfish eat the rasboras?

Do khuli loaches sift the sand around enough to prevent anaerobic (sp?) pockets? I've read they do, and I've read they do not... if they do not, what is an alternative? I'd rather stay away from cories... (horrid experiences with them in another tank) but that is my only complaint. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and reply.

Khuli loaches will not sift through the sand enough to prevent anaerobic pockets, neither will cories or any other fish i know of- the only way to prevent such things without cleaning the sand thoroughly yourself is to have a very thin layer of sand and lots of trumpet snails.
I would still rather advise you though to just stir up the sand thoroughly yourself once a week though rather than rely on a critter of some sort to handle the job  .

An Angelfish should not eat Harlequin Rasboras :)
A main part of their diet in the wild is neon tetras, so be carefull if stocking with them.
