I Know Girls Build Nests Too But.....

the pair im currently trying a spawn from have been in a divided tank for a few days now, and the male has a nest but the girl has also built a nest, and it bigger than the males!? is this normal. she displays underneath her nest in a similar fasion to the way he does under his. she is defo a female, fat and eggy with a very prominant egg spot.

yeah mine have done the same. pics will be helpful if you are able, but do be cautious that a big tummy and egg spot may not always mean it's a girl. a male can have what looks like an egg spot as well. but as i said before, mine have done it, it's just a lot more rare!

she is defo a she tho, i put them intogether for a while today to see how they get on, and lots of flirting, but she is not quite ready yet, so spit them up with the divider for a while yet
