So I have my 3 or 4 gallon tank downstairs and I have had my pregnant guppy in for a few days, did a water change this morning but didnt see no fry, then I have just been looking and seen the guppy chasing one trying to eat it, So i dont know when she gave birth could have been last nite or 15 mins ago, so i could have sucked up some fry when doing the water change. i have put her in the breeding trap so if she has anymore they wont get ate. I have seen about 7 fry so far, there is nothing in my tank so they cant hide.

How long should i keep my guppy in the trap for???

How the hell do i feed my fry and when do i feed them????

thanks, ppl this is my first batch.

You can usually grind flake food fine enough between your fingers to feed livebearer fry in my experience but you could also try the specific forums to see if you can get more tips. I'd just watch the female for a while and keep count and eventually you'll decide she isn't going to have any more for a while.

thanks, can some mod move my thread to the livebearers i forgot?

Also do u rekon the LFS will take them off my hands when they are grown, I have no where to house them???

i fed my platy fry on liquidfry for the first few days, then bought some expensive baby tetramin food, cost me £4 for a small pot,its like a powder.but seems to be working,
I also give them ground up freeze dried bloodworm and brine shrimp, ensure you take out whatever they don't eat and keep the trap clean. :good:

My fry are around 2 weeks old now,i did lose 3 in the trap last week, the other 32 are now in a 30l tank.

You're best off asking lfs about taking them.

Good luck :good:

i just ground up a flake tablet and put some in, alot went in aswell, but I have been doing daily water changes and will get it all out tommorow, only takes 2 mins empty most of the water in the tank. saw them eating it thoe, a few still have yolk sacks attached.

Try not to overfeed, little bit 3 or 4 times a day :good:

yea its hard, I will just leave it today, feed them once and put too much in so i wont put no more in now.
