Volume and Frequency of water changes: i did a water change of about 30% 2 days ago otherwise its every 2 weeks ish with water staying perfect

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: fluval 3+ and a U3, no carbon, nothing added other than pond declor, i added some interpet anti internal bac to both tanks

Tank inhabitants: eeeep.... erm 5 pentazona barbs, 1 bristlenose, 2 whiptails, 2 baby clown loaches, 4 female bettas, 7 corys, 2 swordtails, 2 platys, 5 leopard danios, few guppies, a various other loners like 1 penguin tetra, 1 rummynose, 1 silvertip 1 wcmm probs others maybe

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):

5 female bettas with bad tail damage, one died shortly after, other 3 are fine with othe other with bad bad fin rot :\

Exposure to chemicals:

none

Your tanks overstocked.
With your tank being overstocked you need to being doing a water change once a week.
Also I would invest in another filter to help cope with your stocking.
Clown loaches need large tanks of 100 gallons.

What your tap nitrate reading?

Are any fish nipping as you have some fish that don't get along.
Has the mouth fungus (Columnaris cleared up)

i have 2 filters, ive never had a water quality issue
I know about the clowns they were bought on bad advice but i will upgrade the tank

the female bettas have a bit pf a flare at each other but nothing untoward, never had a problem in 9 months, what would you say dont get along?
the cloumnaris hasnt no, its only my hospital tank, nothing else is showing signs in the main tank

For columnaris in the uk you need myxazin by waterlife and pimafix, or anti internal bacteria med by interpet and pimafix.

Once the mouth start to rot away sadly its best to destroy the fish.

Female betta's and danio can be fin nippers. Make sure no fish are bullying and nipping fins.
Sometimes females betta and guppys don't get along.

Ive never seen it in shops, so ill have to look online

not seen any problems with them so far

only 1 female betta has fin rot and its reached the base of her tail =[

nothing else has/had coulmnaris theyre just dropping dead now, only 1 today

What test kit are you using?

The only test kit not that very good in the api range is the nitrate one. It not very accurate in the nitrate reading.
I find the tetra liquid test kit in nitrate far better.

Need the nitrate reading in tap water.

Ok.
Do you have live plants aswell in the tank.

yes lots and lots of them aswell as floating

i havent has any deaths today

but the bettas are still very unwell

Are you using a med?
Sorry I'm getting tired and not taking info in to well.

ah no worries, i appreciate your help!

I dont actually have any money so im doing meth blue dips which seems to be working but slowly

2 may recover but the 3rd the damage is down the the base of her tail =[ not good, but shes still perky which surprises me

Bless her.
I would try and get a bacterial med. Not melafix. Even if you have to borrow the money. (Myxazin by waterlife)
Good Luck.
