I Have A Problem

since saturday so thats 3 days

if its still not gone by the 5th day should i just carry on?

I would give it abit longer.
If no improvement you might need antibiotics from a vet. Only use in issolation.

Bacterial finrot is mainly caused by bad water quality. Is the fish showing any other symtoms as finrot can be a secondary infection.

Fresh water is one of the best & cheapest healing agents around. As mentioned I would continue with the medication for a second round of five days, and do consider an antibiotic from a vet.

thanks guys I will do

she has no symptoms other than what you can on the picture before, i can only think that she had it when she came to me, we had a shipment of about 100 females with nice long fins together in the same bag from overseas, they were shredded quite badly to...oh i dont know =[

Ive checked my water quality over and over and there is nothing there =[

Keep us upadated.
Good Luck.

this is how she looks today, she has some orange edging to her fins, i think she looks better, but what do you think?

Water testing kits available to the aquarist are very basic. You could compare them to the home chemistry kits for kids as opposed to a professional laboratory. You, I, and most aquarists can't test for the bacterial levels in aquarium water, large frequent water changes are a way of assuring these are at as low a level as possible.

Generally bad bacteria are water borne, good are in the filter, as well as the bio coating that marks a mature tank.

Its a good sign but she still has along way to go.
