I Have A Few Questions.

I currently have a 20 gal tank up and running with 1 pleco, 2 giant danios, 3 neons, a whack of mollies, and 1 male betta. I want to set up my 30 gallon and move pleco, danios and neons over to it. I would really like to get a gold gourami for the 30 gal as well but what I am wondering is can I put an opaline in with the gold? I had a bad experience with a gold and dwarf blue once before so I was wondering if the size of the opaline would work better. Also, I would like to try some live plants in my 20 gal. I have had no experience with live plants at all. How do I plant them? what do I have to do to prep the tank for them?

First, what kind of pleco do you have, as this is going to be something for us to know. Two, you have two sets of schooling fish (danios and neons) that don't seem to have a school, are you planning on filling out their schools when you move them to the 30? And what is a 'whack' of mollies?

Can't really help you with the gouramis, don't really care for them and don't know a whole lot about them to be honest

Plant wise, what kind of lighting do you have in the 20 (wattage)? This is the first thing you need to know before you get plants.

Ok, yes I am planning on purchasing more danios and neons to actually give them a group to school with. The pleco we were told is a leopard pleco but it doesn't match any pictures I have seen. We were told it would only get to be 5-6 inches long but he's 6.5-7 right now. the bulb I am currently running is a 15 watt "life glo" which is 960 lumen, color temperature says 6700 k. My whack of mollies is 11 mollies. Which are staying in the 20 along with the beta. I am also planning on buying a small algae eater of some sorts for the 20.

Just found a match to which species this is, Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus. Which apparently is going to outgrow my 30 gallon as well.
