i had a dream of dyed fish....and i bought them!

i remember it soo clearly.

The dream started off with me going to by a Betta(that's when i knew it really was a nightmare! ) and the guy went away and i went go see where he was, and then i discovered a whole new store! i saw fish that arn't even legal in Australia and fish that i never knew still exsisted!
so there i was, and i walked along and then stopped and saw a goldfish tank, evenly stocked with small goldfish.
red caps had blue and pink tails and other cool colours, and then i saw a black moor with white dots(not ich btw) and i actually bought it! i bought a dyed fish! i felt soo dirty afterwards, i just jumped into the shower.

it was the most horrible experience of my life!

Going completely off topic, I've had fish in my bedroom since I've been keeping them. Now I have two tanks in here with four filters, three being HOB's that make splashing noises.

Whenever I sleep somewhere else, I have tinnitus (ringing in the ears) so I occasionally bring a white noise generator to simulate falling water.

I have fish dreams at least once a week. Could it be that I have 2 tanks and 4 bowls in my room? Hmm. One would think so. Ans the precarious way in which my bed is at, I can see all of them RIGHT before I go to sleep...I SAW a dyed fish at my lfs once and I threw such a hissy that they don't carry them anymore.

On random dreams the worst one ive ever had was to do with a polly ornatapinnis that ate everything, including the world

I'm going to assume that is hyberbole...but still, what was the real reason the dream bothered you so much?

Oddly I don't have loads of fishy dreams despite having my lil tank at the bottom end of my bed. I love the sound of the falling water (set it so the water re-enters from the filter with a small drop) and find it soothing. The only thing that bothered me was the air pump until I sat it on a winter sock.
Dyed fish = me wanting to do violent things to those responsible.

Those of you with tanks intheir rooms, do you find it difficult to sleep anywhere quiet now?

I just cant sleep without it lol

In truth I've never done well with total silence. I prefer noise around, whether it's traffic outside (my brother once lived a few hundreds metres from a main highway in California, I loved that), animals inside, or music when all else fails. Only thing I can't sleep well through are other people talking in the vicinity. Think I'm weird.

Mine aren't very noisy, I can't seem to sleep now without my fan on though....

I don't think i've had any dream like that! I have my tank right next to my bed, I like having them to wake up to in the morning. They're most active then too.

I live on a main road, and often have a fan on, so noise doesn't bother me, but, I sleep fine if it's quiet too. I don't mind the noise of the filter, unless it's touching the glass of the tank and vibrating, or if the water level has dropped a bit, and it's making a bit too much noise.
