I Got New Fish

Nope, your right, there golden Algea eaters, My book variyfies everything you said, they grow to around 10" and get aggrisive when there older due the the lack of space in most tanks :(

According to this i have a while, they grow slow:) and i have 2 tanks so i can split them.

Then they'll make a really good excuse to get a BIGGER TANK! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

About the breeding how it works depending on dominant or recessive features you get a mixed colour or true colour. I have found if i breed my neon with my black/blue green sword then i get a 50 - 50 split of fry :p. Although its best if you have a pair of the same colour. Although with the mix of swords in you tank and without knowing male or female any male can fertilise any number of eggs on one female. yes confusing.........

normally the neon and green and black swordtails are hard to come across have noticed quite a few of them lately, Your CAE are calm but deadly, Calm when young because they prefer algae as a food source but when they get bigger they like meat...... that puts your fish in jeopardy ....

Got kinda carried away with the albino part there is also a golden CAE

Edited to avoid another post...

yes you are in trouble but it wont grow a foot long, Most only grow to 10 Inches

And there normally only aggressive when they get older I brought mine a 2 years ago and they are not much bigger very slow grower, But watch them with angelfish and all compressed And depressed fish

Oh hahaha

Well I was told that they reach 12 inches. That is very close to 10 inches so either of us could be right. I have one also. They are very aggresive. They stress out ur fish. Stress can cause death. I would not recamend this fish. Because of its aggresiveness, my albino chinese algae eater is housed currently in the hospital tank so it will not cause anymore troubles. I need to either get it a new tank, or trade it in to the lfs. It can take out the eyes of corys. It killed my panda cory which was my favorite fish. It will suck the sides of gouramis and angel fish. It is also bad with platys. The only fish that I have found compatible is yoyo loaches.

:p My Yo-Yo's Are EVIL

Sorry to say but it will hurt ur other fish. Some to the death. Mine killed one of my corys. Be carefull.

And they dont grow slowly either - ours grew from 1-2" to about 6" in a couple of months max - then got sent back to the LFS sharpish when they started really attacking our other fish. And yep, they're very aggressive when they get larger, but it's wrong to think because folks say that that they're not aggressive when they're small - because they are. They just get worse as they grow.

Is this it.

I didn't know this: "In England, a permit is required to sell or keep "Weather Loaches", but the species actually listed is Misgurnis fossilis, a European species." Is this true?

There is one species that is not allowed to be kept, although a) you wouldn't notice if you did have one, b ) you'd be unlikely to bother telling anyone if you did have one and c) the wholesaler/lfs isn't going to notice either.

Mine didnt grow slowly either! He grew to about eight inches in about two months!!! They are very evil!!! Mean little things that atack fish and chase them stressing them out! I felt so bad for the other fish I had to put the CAE in the hospital tank. I didnt want another fish to be killed. :(
