I don't belive it!

while I highly doubt that this product has what it takes to make a fishtank maintainence free I do believe that it is posible. A very large dinitrification chamber inline with A highly overpowered skimmer and a large fluidised bed filter could do it if you had algea eating fish and inverts which are in abundance in salt water. you could even automate moveing the foam from the skimmer colectioncup to another location ondry it out creating a hard pelet of nasty icky foam junk. but if you had this set up you could certainly put a bit more time into the presentation than they did. IMO

How suspicious, they don't seem to mention at all how it works -_-

Also:

"The Bio Filter series is:

realistic"

what - they're telling me it looks like a real filter?! :/ so does my currnet one, ta very much!

made fom 100% natural materials

K so it's made of wood chippings and lentils or summat - definitely not going in my tank

whoa...it gets worse, people

I just looked at their site to see what wonderful secret they could be using to make a tank "maintenance free".

On this page they say:

"Experience has shown that during two years of testing (the filter), only partial water changes and vacuuming the debris was required"

That's mainteneance, is it not? -_-

They also mention

"Ammonia and nitrates level throughout the period was found to be minimal, which also helped to control the growth of algae"

Minimal? Should be zero, surely?

Then on this page we're treated to an explanation of the nitrogen cycleand how their "special" filter carries it out.

Basically it's the same as any other filter.
