Ok im getting either a 55,65 or 75 gallon tank and i cnt decide if im gunna keep 2-3 frontosas or 1-2 siamese tiger fish? i cnt decide does any one have any advice about the 2 species? advice and comments are welcom.

Frontosas need a minimum of 90g for a single fish and 125 for a group if you're thinking of trying to breed them. They can live for 25 years so it's quite an undertaking plus you would need to separate the male after spawning as he will eat the fry and harrass the females (sometimes to death). They grow to 15 inches and will be stunted if kept in too small an aquarium. Siamese tigers grow to 16 inches and require brackish water. Don't know much more about them.

i would say get the biggest tnak you can coz you will always want bigger. and although i know nothing about them id go brakish and get the tiger fish they look amazing!

another idea i had was to get a 75 and make it an arowana tank but strickly just 1 arowana. if i were 2 get the fronts i would put some other chiclids in wit it same with the tiger fish but could i just put 1 arrowana in a 75?

The tiger fish aren't actualy brackish - but you still need a 55 minnimum for a single one of the more common species. You can't keep two - they are territorial.
You can't get the two fronts for that tank.
Ask in oddball about the bichir.

If you want many fish, why not do a nice mbuna set-up or something like that?

Far as I'm aware, you need more than a 55G to keep one. The smallest staying 1 of the 5 siamese tiger fish will need 60G+ (Datnioides quadrifasciatus - 14") and this one is found in brackish waters as well as freshwaters.

There's also Datnioides microlepis (18"), Datnioides pulcher (16"), Datnioides undecimradiatus (16") and Datnioides campbelli (18"). Though, the last one of these is very rarely seen in the aquarium trade, or wild for that matter.

It is true that its not a good idea to keep more than 1 in a tank though, they're very territoral, and aggressive towards their own kind.

Arowanna, I think need more than 75G as well, though not certain.

It probably couldn't hurt moving this to oddballs
