I bought another sick betta

He was sitting there. Dying. I had to do something. I have an empty tank I thought. Why not? So I bought him. His tail is falling off. But he is beautiful.

That's so sad. I hate that these fish are sold without any regard towards their health. I hope you can save him. I just wish you would have asked the store to give him to you for free because buying them just gives the store more money to mistreat more fish. At least one life is saved though.

I did too when I rescued mine. His color has already improved and he’s swimming so that’s a good sign. Glad you rescued him!

I did not, I got a receipt with gurantee on my betta and I could get new one for free if my current one dies between 30 days.

I like rescuing bettas from chain pet stores as well, although I know that I am supporting them and producing more demand for more bettas. I'm torn everytime, buy it and give them reason to bring more in or leave it to die.
