Well, for literally months, i've been looking around websites for fixtures and bulbs that would be suitable for a 90 gallon tank. I've read all of the pinnies here on Lighting, but i need help! I'm striving for a WPG of 2 and it's a freshwater tank. 48'' long. What combos (lighting and hood (enough WPG, good spectrum, not spending a fortune)) do you suggest. Please give me the exact model fixture and the exact bulbs, and please provide links or post prices here.

By the way, not necessarily combos, but rather any lights that would work with a given hood.

Thanks!

Hey Mike! Yay! A fellow Ontarian!

What, in your eyes is a fortune?

I have a 90 as well, and got a power compact fixture for $400 and change. 4 55watt bulbs gives me 2.44 wpg.

You can probably find a similar one on ebay for less.

Hey Ontarion! May i just ask if you got the fixture at Big Als?

And in my eyes, $400 seems like a bit of a fortune to spend on light. I was hopefully looking for something under $100 but i can understand if nothing is really available for that price. What fixture model was it exactly? I will definately look some up on Ebay. Thanks!

EDIT: oops i see now you have it in your signature :p

That's why I put it there!

Yep. I got it at Big Als. The one in Hamilton. It technically is a saltwater one; came with two attinic and two 10,000k bulbs, but they switched them out for me.
