I am going to sell my 29 gallon aquarium as well as the blue-eyed plec (panaque suttoni) that it houses. My 2 blushing angels are being transferred to my 46 gallon with my 3 platies 1 betta and 2 clown loaches. My kissing gouramis will be moved to my 20 gallon tank (which will be cleared out of all inhabitants, tiger barbs, rainbow shark, flying fox). With the money I get from selling my stuff I will buy 4 dwarf gouramis for my 20 gallon, as well as a bristlenose or other small plec. I will also purchase a 10 gallon tank which my platies will be moving into. I will also be buying for the 10 gallon 3 mollies and 3 guppies. My betta will be moving into my 5 gallon which is almost done cycling. I will also buy 2 cories as companions for him. After my 46 gallon has been almost cleared out, I will buy 2 more clown loaches, and 3 Discus. Any opinions, comments, ideas? Much appreciated. :D Phew. Glad i've got that off my chest. To make it clearer here is what my sig will look like:

46 gallon
4 clown loaches
3 red tiger discus
2 blushing angelfish

20 Gallons
4 dwarf gouramis
2 kissing gouramis
1 plec (probably bristlenose, any suggestions?)

10 gallons
3 gold twinbar platies
3 silver lyretail mollies
3 fancy guppies

5 gallons
2 panda cories
1 betta

If you find any flaws in my extravagant plan please let me know.

Well? Come on don't tell me I typed all that for nothing. At least tell me what kind of pleco to get. Although I am kind of turning things around in my mind... maybe I should get an african cichlid or other semi-aggressive tank for my 20... any suggestions?

Ok I've decided for my 20 gallon I want a cichlid tank. Maybe Mbuna. Any small predatory fish you could suggest? I want a rockwork tank because of the less upkeep since there are no plants.

I did a fair amount of research into mbuna, but didn't actually set it up... although I still dream of a rockwork chichlid tank.

Mbuna are very territorial, so in a 20 Gal tank things might get a little aggresive. If you go for it, I'd reccomend stocking lightly and placing "blinder walls" of rock that divide one fish's territory so they can't see their neighbours from their favorite spot.

I can't really suggest any specific species, since I don't have any experience with them... I'm sure there are some african chiclid keepers here that could help you with that department :)

Good luck with your tank, I'm jealous :D

P.S. whatever you decide to go with, make sure to take some pics and post them

Yes I've been planning to buy a digital camera... No luck so far though. In terms of Mbuna, I was thinking maybe several malawi Gold, and some pseudotropheus zebra. They don't get too too big and I've had some experience with them. Strangely enough they are some of the easiest to maintain of all the fish I've kept.

NOOOO....don't put Mbuna or any african cichlids into a 20gall tank....it is way too small for them....The smallest they can go into is a 55gal tank....keep the 20gal tanks for dwarf cichlids and perhaps community fish (platies, guppies etc.)....

While Mbuna likes being overstocked, overstocking a 20gal is asking for trouble.

U can easiely have 4-5 mbunas in a 20g just make LOTS i mean LOTS of caves for them. I know people who have kept 12 large mbunas in a 33g for years and they have been happy u just need to make alot of hidding places! and with mbunas u should over stock a little to reduce aggression. for a 20g... hmm i would say 6 max remeber this tho! CAVES! CAVES!

In a 20gall with a lot of caves there isn't going to be a lot of swimming room....I have a 75gall with Mbuna and they spend a LOT of time free swimming....the only time they are in their caves is when lights go out...

They may survive in a tank this size but will not be as healthy or as vibrant as they should be

DON'T DO IT!!!
