I shouldn't watch these films anyway, the suspense is too much. The scene where he followed Sam into the bank when she ran in after the deer nearly killed me

And, while we're on the subject of Sam...what was with that last Sam scene? how could they :-(

I read that Will Smith spent time with a POW who had been kept in solitary to research how to behave, but I was disappointed that he wasn't over joyed to find other survivors. Maybe it was accurate, but it was a scene where we could have had joy and we didn't.

I was also left wondering where he stuck Anna and Ethan at the end so they would be safe and why he chose not to go in with them if it was that safe. He could have thrown the grenade and escaped too...since he was the major scientist in this research it would seem in the Worlds best interests to have him survive to develop the cure further, since all his work was destroyed and the blood sample was an untested treatment.

I guess he'd just had enough? remember Anna did stop him from killing himself in the first place. I suppose.

I just wish they could have done a bit more with it. It was a bog standard "Population infected/only one left" type of film and it deserved better.

Well, it was a remake I know, but I really hoped they would give it at least a sort of happy ending. I didn't like it when Omega Man died and I didn't like it this time either. I guess they were sticking to the book, but I had hoped for a bit more happiness.

thought it was very resident evil and quite boring TBH.

I love "I am Legend". I was also wondering why he didnt throw the gernade, and then jump in the hatch. Ohh well. Also, i love supense, but that was almost too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was ok, not as good as "the last man on earth" or "omega man" or the book...whcih is very dark and very good. Will smith does his best, but at the end of the day its a remake of a remake of a book...about up to Hollywoods usual remake standard.

I really liked it...probably because I've not read the book, or seen resident evil/omega man/ the last man on earth.

Didn't he say he wouldn't get in with them because they wont stop" or something like that? If he threw the grenade, it wouldn't have killed them all and they would kill Anna, Ethan, himself and the cure would be lost.

It seemed a bit strange to me why he had a grenade proof cupboard and a grenade in that glass room, but I figured the book probably explained it -_- .

Oh I reckon I would have grenades in every draw in my house if I thought I was the only person left alive in a world full of mutant maniacs. But generally, hand grenades are designed to explode AFTER you throw them, most soldiers wouldn't really buy in to having to hold them to make them go off, so he should have had a little bit of time to throw it and go.

I never understand why they don't go and live in the prison though. Surely the local prison must be the safest place to be? should have years worth of food in the store room, should have maximum lock down capability and all that. Why bother fortifying a house when you could move in to an already built fortress?

I have just seen this and think it is a steaming pile of hotspur

Humm wonder what came first? Resident Evil or Omega Man. who is copying who?

Good film but flawed, nice job by WS i thought.

Saw the preview and knew I would never see it.....Let me guess....Will Smith saves the world again?

Sorry guys not trying to be a grouch just not my thing, if you liked it, great :)

I thought it was ok but nothing special. I agree that the ending sucked and it makes no sense that he didnt get into whatever the hell it was that the woman and boy got into. The grenade blew the crap out of everything in the basement so was no need to kill himself as well.

Anyone know what he was spraying/pouring on his steps as well? It never explained that.

Sort of reminded me of a cross between resident evil and cast away.

Good point about why do people in these movies never go to the closest prision. I never thought about that but now if the world is ever overrun by mutant zombies and I'm the only one left alive I know where to go :p

Well, at first I thought it was fuel of some description, for lighting if they got to close, but he didn't light it, and later he said to Anna that they didn't know where he lived, so I wondered if it was maybe still solvent of some sort but he was washing away his scent or something?

Any ideas anyone else?

I am thiking fuel. But when i first saw it, i was thinking along the lines of: Maybe it is some solvent that stop's them from crossing the barrier. But im sure that isnt right!

I assumed it was Holy water :D

Saw it on Tuesday and the first 3/4 of it were ok / good - I was just getting into it when they realised they had nearly filled their time quota and ended it in the next 20 mins... that sucked.

There was no elaboration of the "learning" and social behaviour that was happening...

Lots of untied ends and lots of problem areas.... - If he had of got up after his leg injury in the first place (rather than getting up once they had been attacked) then they would have been ok - the fear of getting eaten should have been enough motivation!... mind you - they wouldnt have been able to wrap it up as quick then.

Why didn't he have some kind of UV lighting system that he could carry into the darkness???

Might read the book now - then I can slate the film a bit more...
