Hello, I have some very dirty and overgrown rocks, and how do i clean them OUTside of the tank with hydrgen peroxide? thanks

You can submerge them in peroxide for a couple minutes. That will kill the algae. Then clean them off with fresh water well before introducing them back into the tank. I do this with live plants as well, just do not put tge roots in the peroxide.

Depending on the size of the rocks you can also boil them.

Mail em to me.

No, really though... Jbram's already suggested some good ideas. I personally wouldn't boil them in case the rocks fall apart or something drastic like that.

Hydrogen Peroxide only really works with black brush and staghorn algae. Its usually used in a tank to prevent having to take it out to clean.

If you are able to remove it just scrub it with a wire brush and you will likely get them looking good. I got a set of wire 'tooth' brushes with a set of dental style picks off Amazon for £12.99. It seemed to be some kind of welding set but does a great job.

Its quite a dangerous chemical too so if you use it make sure you have some help around to handle it safely and responsibly.

Didn't think of that, but yeah, it could definitely be a safety hazard! I think Sgooosh lives with their parents, so maybe supervision would be helpful.

I use a brand new dish brush to scrub rocks and see how pigmented stuff is before I dump it in my tank. It works pretty well.

I concur with @Wills. I would just scrub them really good, under hot water.

Make sure to not use any chemicals, or cleaning materials that have been in contact with chemicals.
