Nice tank - all I would say (and don't take this the wrong way) is couldn't you hide the heater a lil more? It's a great setup and having that huge bad boy right across the back puts you off how good the tank really is!

i wanted to hide the heater but when i was first installing it i read on the box of the heater (in big black lettering!!) do not put anything directly in front of the heater (words to that effect anyway) so i didn't! as you can see.

are you telling me it is ok to plant some plants in front of it? the big plant in front of filter is a fake, but the others are all live. if i can cover the heater with live plants that would be brilliant. is it safe to do that then?

hmm - i'd think it'd be ok... well, i have plants close to my heater in the small tank, not touching but close... i've moved my filter along and put the heater between it and the tank standing up

well i'm going to try it. i'm sure it can't really be dangerous, i mean its not like a fire is going to break out or anything. i think that would be highly unlikely in a tank full of water! thanks for that.

nice looking tank.looks like you have about as much luck getting a pic of your kribs as i do  they can move pretty quick when they want to.

the only pic i couldn't get at all was the b n plec. i saw him out once and took a shot but it looked bad. you could barely pick him out against the gravel. i thought i had a good quality camera until i tried to take these photos. there is light shining everywhere and blurred images. the colours are sort of out. they really don't do the tank justice but it's nice to swap pics with others who are interested in the same hobbies.

oh and i'm quite suprised i didn't get any pics of the snails. i think i've got more of them in my tank than anything else lol

what the trumpet snails, my tanks have millions  i hate the bugg@#s
bristlenose plecs iam also over run with them, have around 80-100 fry
with your camera is it a digi?
does it have macro mode<picture of a flower?

Hi,

Very nice, well planted tank. Looks good.

I am not an expert in taking pictures of tank but I have noticed taking the picture from and angle (instead of taking it from the front) will not show the flash light in the picture.

Try it and see if it helps.

ok i will try that as well

nelly, it isa digital camera, samsung so is a good brand but not the most expensive. macro mode? pic of flower? not sure. i'm not all that good with technology
i think they are trumpet snails. you know, the ones that you don't sign up for lol. they appeared from nowhere. first i saw an odd one, then two, next day i spotted three, and then there were in the region of 20. they multiply fast!

hehe in one of my tanks i have around 400....like a bloomin army
a samsung eh not a digimax cyber 530?

yeah it is a digimax cyber 530.i looked on the actual camera cos the instruction manual is for several models. is that good? or not?

thats the same camera as mine,,,hehe,,
just play with it, i never read manuals,,,
the little circle on the back you will see a pic of a flower,,,,

turn camera on set top to manual, then get 5mega pixels set with vivid mode in the menu, if you cant find these dont worry, play and discover,,,
try adding the lightning flash with flower mode and steady then shoot,,,not directly on the tank,do it at angles, see how pics come out, then try with all the different flashes :good:

oh yea before you shoot slightly press button and you will see it focus better then hold the button :good:
