Hungry Severum Problem

Well my severum somehow sees imaginary food above the water on the glass. It keeps trying to jump for it and I'm afraid it's going to jump out. Is there any way I can stop this?

Adding a cover glass if your tank allows it will make it so they can't jump out. Some netting (well secured) would do, too. Obviously, if there's something in the hood it's trying to get, removing it would get rid of the temptation.

My oscar does the same thing quite often (I think he's going for drops of condensation which form on the glass supports), bumps his head on the glass when he goes for it and gets all the other fish all interested thinking there's food nearby!
